I'm confused about the readings and the like.
are we ment to be doing Zelliot this week or Dirks? i dont have the questions with me their at home :/ so im in the woods with a paddle, it just doesnt help.
and just for fun iv got work tonight, so i dont have alot of time to do the questions, i know im leaving it till too late but, well i did so now i need to fix it, any help out there?
PS Sarah iv braught in that DVD two times... in a row... and you havnt shown :/ im bound to forget soon, hope your ok.

John, you may not believe this but Alonzo (not sure how to spell his name), Mahamed and I sat together this afternoon to work out the week 7 homework. haha we are ahead : )
sorry john, I have hurt my back so I won't be in all week just lying around and using up all my high speed broadband. I do appreciate the multiple remembering of your dvd though...I will look forward to watching it.
As far as i know the homework is Zelliot: the first paper on caste. It's kind of a survey like the other papers have been. In short: it's complicated. The actually use of the term 'caste' is a bit all over the place.
The questions are:
What is the difference between Varna, Caste, Jati?
There are a range of theories about the origins of castes from racial to patriarchal, explain.
Give an account of 3 reformers of caste since 13thCE.
What antidiscrimination policies have been implemented before/after independence?
