Yes, there was a bit of that at the end of Metcalf with the image of Mother India wearing Indian spun cloth (and the Indian identity that went with that) as well as the Tamil personification of their language as south India became politically mobilised...not to mention the importance of emerging new media and global coverage for Gandhi.
