Wedding photos

As a fan of photography, Flickr and because I'm writing up an art assignment I found this artist and his collection of Indian-related work at http://flickr.com/photos/ashish100/. There are some lovely Hindu wedding photos.

There are some woderful pictures on that website thanks for sharing - I especially love the pictures of the women's hands done in the henna ink. I did that to my cousins pregnant belly a while ago and we were quite impressed with the photos we took.

Yes, I loved the henna ones too, I printed it for my visual diary - I have to keep a journal of visual ideas and exercises for my practical art subject.

There's a great site called http://wordle.net where you can put in a bunch of text and create a 'word cloud'...so I ended up doing a word cloud of the names of Enlightenment thinkers...so sad!

Wedding rites and practices differ all over India, and each community has their own unique way of doing things. But one aspect that seems to be a shared characteristic amongst Hindus is that the bride and groom can be a king and a queen for the day
